A Letter to My Future Self

To my future self…

I can’t wait to see what life holds for me a few years down the line, all I know now, is that God will bless the road I am on and that holding onto the hope that things will get better is not in vain.

I plead that you never forget the love and mercy that God has shown you during this difficult time in your life. I also beg you to remain thankful for everything that you have in your life right now. Remember the times that you felt as though you had nothing here on earth anymore, and God showed you that you have absolutely everything in Him. That God gave you hope and strength when it all seemed impossible.

Remember the times that you pleaded with God for someone to love because you felt so alone, and God become your great love. That one day when you are reading this, you may have found your husband, treasure him every single day and remember that God gave you an amazing gift. But always remember that God is your great love. Never trade that for anything this world can offer.

I ask that you remember the only reason you have come this far and done so much, is because of God’s blessings and love. The most important thing is to thank God every single day for everything you have. Ask God to keep you grateful and thankful. Remember how God held you through it all and that He was the source of your greatest comfort in everything.

Hold tight to His love.

Remember the tears, but also remember how God wiped them away.
Remember the hopelessness, but remember the hope that God promised.
Remember the complete loneliness, but also how God held you through it all.
Remember the pain and your broken heart, and how God mended it.
Remember how people let you down, and love them even more.
Remember how you dreamed of a true love, only to realise God was there all along.
Remember to never give up.
To never let go of God.
To never put human love before God again.
To never forget how far God has carried you.
To always hold on to Him that won’t break His promise, when He says, I will love you forever.
